About Me

I have been always passionate about movement, and I have been lucky enough to have support that I needed so that I could explore different kinds of movement disciplines since childhood. Karate was one of my first disciplines and other martial art forms have been following me till adulthood. I love it for its holistic approach as it cultivates physical, mental, and spiritual skills of a man and meets dance on so many levels.

Among other disciplines, I have always enjoyed swimming, I did athletics (sprints). In my teenage years I fell in love with basketball. I think it was for the lifestyle, sense of freedom and self-expression I could see in some of the NBA players. In-line skating became my other huge passion in my childhood and when I was at university, I became certified in-line skating instructor. Roller dancing is my next north star.

And then, still as a teenager, I encountered dance, and it became my lifelong partner. I started with hip hop dance, and I believe that it was the connection with the music that was unique comparing to other disciplines I did. Music brings me life, it is a source of inspiration and healing. I love being able to express myself creatively to music. I was part of a hip hop dance group, I competed and performed. I cultivated my skills mainly in popping which we used to call “Electric Boogie”.

Later, I left the group and explored other movement and dance disciplines such as contemporary dance, improvisation, physical theatre, yoga, qigong, Feldenkrais.

At the same time as I was educating myself, I also started leading my first dance lessons. I gave classes in several dance groups in Czech Republic, but I also had chance to give classes in Portugal and California and New York, USA. I have worked in the private sector, for non-profit organizations and universities.

I have worked with people of different ages, and I enjoy working with teenagers and young adults. Beyond general public, I led classes for more specific groups such as new circus students or figure skating groups.

Through my own experience I help others to connect with their artistic voice, express themselves creatively and feel free and joyful in dance.

I have experience working with music artists as a choreographer and movement director and it is also area I would like to continue to pursue.

I studied Faculty of Sports Studies and Faculty of Physical Culture. I accomplished my Ph.D. program with research on flow experience. I incorporate the knowledge I gained throughout my studies into my teaching practice and my daily life.

I am very grateful that I had a chance to be mentored by one of my dance role model Teresa Espinosa for more than 3 years.

I have been inspired by commercial hip hop choreographers such as Luam, Rhaposody James (I had chance to learn from both of them in person for the first time last summer in New York), Galen Hooks (I participated in her program and on-line dance classes), Kyle Hanagami (I am currently learning on-line with his membership program) to name a few. Maya Taylor is another great commercial choreographer and mentor that I’ve had chance to learn from.

Nowadays, I focus on building a dance community, developing my choreographic skills and collaboration with other artists.

I am currently based in Brno, Czech Republic.
